Help! is the second film directed by English rock band The Beatles. Released on July 29, 1965. The soundtrack went on a self-titled album.
A surreal adventure, filmed in London, Bahamas and Swiss Alps. In the film the Beatles are chased by Indian members of a cult who want the ring that Ringo is using. The movie was not so accepting of criticism as its predecessor, A Hard Day's Night.
Initially the film would be called Eight Arms To Hold You. The film cost twice the price of the former to be filmed in color and have done in some exotic locations. In the United States released an LP with the soundtrack. In England but not all the songs on LP were presented in the film.
During the statements made in the documentary Anthology, Ringo said many scenes of the film were recorded with the Beatles under the influence of marijuana.
